How do you manage your work-life balance?
My work-life balance is managed by intentional scheduling. I ensure that I am not counseling clients on my husband's days off from work, endeavoring to spend quality time with him, as our marriage is my first ministry. I also take a long weekend trip at least once per quarter to give myself the needed self-care.
"Any challenge that we face in life, presents an area that needs attention".
What motivates you when you are faced with adversity?
What motivates me most when faced with adversity is changing the scenario and seeing it as an opportunity for growth. Any challenge that we face in life presents an area that needs attention. We have to be responsible enough to embrace what's being revealed and be willing to make the necessary modifications.
What do you hope to accomplish in the near future?
In the future, I desire to open a women's shelter/counseling center for those who have been victims of domestic violence. I was subjected to DV and didn't get the support needed when I was actively involved. I want to make a difference for those who are facing it now.
What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
The most important lesson that life has taught me is to remain optimistic and teachable. I've gone through many traumas in life, and if I'd listened to spectators, I might not be alive today, but with a few strong women covering me, I survived. We can't give up, no matter how challenging things may seem. We have to get the needed knowledge for growth, have a vision, work the strategy, and obey the Father's will in all things.
"Once you've been empowered, take the responsibility to empower others",
What is you take on woman to woman inspiration?
Woman to woman inspiration is necessary. My motto, "Once you've been empowered, take the responsibility to empower others", fits into the mission of this support system. I know that we are always stronger together, and when we realize that we're not alone - we are strengthened.
